How to Modify an Existing Policy

You can modify a policy to update its metadata (name/description), adjust the default action, and change its configuration by adding, editing, or removing rules, scanners, and components.

Note

You cannot modify or update a Default/Built In policy.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Navigate to the Policy page and click on an existing policy with a source Policy Designer from the policy list.

   

2. You can update the Name and Description of your policy (if needed).

3. (Optional) Update the Base policy selection.

   Tip

   Changing a base policy can change what is inherited by this policy. Review your Scanners and Components afterward to confirm whether they are inherited or overridden.

   

4. You can also add new rules and actions or set a new default action for the policy.
