Endpoint Devices¶
The Endpoint Devices page in Endpoint Protection lists every device that was enrolled at any point, including devices that are no longer active, and lets administrators control which devices can report to Boost Security.
Each device authenticates with its own unique device token, issued when the device registers during installation. Because every device holds its own token, access is managed per device: revoking or deleting one device never affects the rest of the fleet.
Credential Status¶
Each device's credential status shows the state of its device token:
- Active – The device holds a valid device token.
- Stale – The device has not checked in recently.
- No credential – The device has no active device token, for example after its access was revoked.
Revoke a Device¶
Revoke credentials invalidates the device's token. The device can no longer report to Boost Security, but it stays listed with the data it already reported. Access can be restored by re-installing with a deployment token.
Revoke a device when it is lost, compromised, or should stop reporting.
Delete a Device¶
Delete device revokes the device's credentials and permanently removes the device and its data from Boost Security, including the developers, components, and alerts collected from it. Deletion cannot be undone.
Delete a device when it is permanently retired, or when its data should no longer appear in the Inventory & Alerts views.
